Background

After a simple research, the pioneer of MRCC reached a conclusion that most African students at the University of Durban Westville were not performing well in their assignment partly because their assignments were handwritten and in most cases their handwriting was not neat as compared to their White and Indian counter-parts.  This greatly affected their year mark leading them to failing their final examinations.

With permission from the University Authorities, evening computer classes were started in the pioneer’s office in 1998.  The idea behind was mainly to help students to  acquire computer knowledge to at least be able to type their assignment and look for information using computer and do some research on internate.  

This simple informal project brought joy to over 350 students who went through this computer literacy training.  This called for a need to register with the necessary authorities so that we could start offering certificates of attendance.
In 2007 Marian Ridge Computer Centre was provisionally accreditated with the W&RSETA.  And in 2010 the Centre acquired full accreditation.

EXPERIENCE 

Marrian Ridge has been in the training business for the past 12 years in which we have grown from strength to strength.  We have full accreditation with W&RSETA with approval of eight (8) learnership programmes, five (5) Skills Programmes  and many single unit standards that can be delivered as stand-alone programmes. 

PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN IN THE RECENT PAST

To-date Marrian Ridge Computer Centre has served quite a number of companies  and managed a number of  projects sponsored by W&RSETA among which were for tenders worn to train the Programme we are currently proposing to training if given a change .  The success of these four projects have been between 90 and 100%.
